Jason Wanner: Links
- Blue Street Jazz Band
- This is the band with whom Jason appears the most regularly. Check them out for sure, they travel quite a bit so perhaps they'll come to a town near you.
- STJS Trad Jazz Camp
- When Jason is not on the road in the summer, you'll find him giving back to the same organization that provided him with the jazz instruction that has brought him to where he is today. In July and August, Jason can be found teaching jazz to both the young and old. This ain't your stereotypical "Band Camp"! If you are looking for jazz instruction and would like to have Jason as your teacher for a week, sign up today! NOTE: You must be proficient on your instrument in order to attend.
The following links are some of the pianists and other artists that have influenced Jason throughout his life.
- Erroll Garner
- Oscar Peterson
- Fats Waller
- Billy Joel
- Vince Guaraldi
- Vladimir Horowitz
- John Williams
- Harry Connick Jr.
- Chet Baker
- Ray Charles
- Eduardus Halim
- The last student of Vladimir Horowitz. Jason recently attended a concert of his and was completely blown away. More than that, he gave Jason a public lesson on Debussy's Reflets Dans L'eau... Jason's perspective on music has been changed for life... and for the better!
Other Links
- Apple's iPod
- Quite possibly the greatest invention of the last 25 years, no one should be without this device. You can pretty much store your entire music collection on IPOD and have it with you at all times. If it's not considered one of the greatest inventions, then it is definitely the coolest! Jason loves his, and is often caught saying, "What CD collection? Oh you mean the one that fits inside this little deck-of-cards-size wonder?"
- SheetMusic Plus
- For all your sheet music needs. Sorry, songs from "Nature Boy" are not available in sheet music form......YET.
- Musician's Friend
- Everything you could possibly need as a musician, except advice.
- Proper Music
- This place has put out amazing box-set recordings of many jazz greats. Each set is about 4 cd's, and they are very inexpensive. What a great way to build your jazz library!
